Academic excellence lies at the heart of all our courses.

In its most recent report into the quality of our teaching, the Quality Assurance Agency praised us for our ‘continuous and systematic improvement of the student experience’ and identified our approach to quality enhancement to be a key factor in our good practice.

Professor David Green, the University's Vice Chancellor and Chief Executive, said: “In recent years the 桔子短视频 has consolidated its excellent national reputation for academic quality on our biggest programmes, which educate future teachers, nurses and midwives. This independent audit report studied the entire work of the University at every level and across the range.”

"We are delighted to have received so many commendations... particularly for the work we do to provide educational opportunities for disabled students and to promote unusually high rates of employability."

The 2023  (TEF) has awarded The 桔子短视频 a Silver rating. This means that 'the student experience and outcomes are typically very high quality, and there may be some outstanding features.'

This evaluation is set to last for the next four years. It is the major assessment of the quality of University education in England.

“The panel judged there to be compelling evidence in the provider and student submissions and the indicators that the very high quality and outstanding features apply to all the provider’s groups of students including students from under-represented groups...Considering the evidence holistically, the panel considered there to be evidence of very high quality across all groups of students and for all courses and subjects.”

On the aspect of 'Student Outcomes' the panel summarised that:

“The panel...considered the majority of features to be very high quality, with one outstanding quality feature...Considering the features holistically, the panel judged there to be evidence of typically very high quality student outcomes across the aspect as a whole.”

Employability opportunities

We embed employability into our curriculum which means that our graduates are some of the most sought after by employers throughout the country. We have many links with employers through our placement schemes and provide significant support to further boost the employability of our students.

Support structure

Our comprehensive Student Online Environment is tailored to each individual student to ensure that every student has the level of support and guidance they need throughout their studies.

Through schemes like our Student Academic Representatives (StARS) initiative, we have enhanced student representation throughout the University, ensuring that every student’s voice and opinion can be heard at the highest level. This, combined with the development of our Link Tutor Forum (to share good practice across the institution) and our inclusive approach in working with collaborative partners, means that all of our students benefit from true academic excellence at the heart of their course.

Degree Outcomes Statement

The University undertakes a number of measures to ensure that our qualifications accurately recognise, demonstrate and celebrate the academic success of our students.  We regularly analyse our data on the proportions of degree classifications we award and review these alongside this range of measures to ensure that all of our students – be they past, present or future – receive qualifications of which they can be proud.

The latest outcome of this analysis and review is contained within our Degree Outcomes Statement.
