When you move to another country to study there is a lot to think about. The ½Û×Ó¶ÌÊÓƵ offers an incredible opportunity to study in a city that is the perfect size to navigate and develop your social life, whilst offering an excellent academic experience.

Our Welcome to Worcester webpages offer plenty of information about starting your study at Worcester as well as social events over your Welcome Period. Be sure to check out these pages regularly as we update them with new events and information in the run up to the Welcome Festival period.

Once you’ve received and accepted your offer to study with us, and your CAS, UK visa and accommodation are organised, there’s a few more things to think about:

Download our International Student App

Remember to download the International Welcome Guidebook App on the  or  or our if you’re a student from the UK. This will tell you about events and activities taking place over your moving in period and offers day-to-day advice about living in the UK.

The app will provide you with campus maps and local information such as shops, banks, and travel. You'll also find answers to questions often asked by first year students and who to contact for help and advice.

Preparing for success

is a learning website for international students who are getting ready to travel to the UK for study in higher education.

You can choose 'study pathways' if you would like to search by skill or topic, practise your language skills, find out about cultural differences, or find out about individual aspects of academic life in the UK by searching for them on the site.

We’ve created a Pre-Arrival Checklist to help you get ready to come to the UK. The checklist covers pre-travel document checks, making travel arrangements, what to pack and a timeline of when to open a bank account or organise a mobile phone.

If you have any questions about the pre-arrival process, please contact the International Team on international@worc.ac.uk

International Induction

The International Induction is our opportunity to welcome you to Worcester and the UK and to prepare you for your time with us.

International students are invited to attend an international induction during which you will have an opportunity to get over jet lag and begin to address any culture shock you may be experiencing as well as meeting other international students and getting to know Worcester and the UK.  Experience has shown that attending this induction is very valuable and an indicator of future success.  During this time, you will meet the International Experience team and learn about the support they can offer during your time studying with us.

International BSc Nursing students are expected to arrive earlier than students studying other subjects.

As the times and details of the induction events are finalised they will be added to your Induction Timetable on the International student app where you can book onto events and add them to your schedule.

What support is available to me?

As an international student you are a member of the university family from the start and have access to all the same excellent academic, emotional, and practical support as home students.  However, we recognise that while moving to the UK to study is exciting, getting settled into a new country with different languages, food and currency can also feel daunting. We have created a specialist International Student Support webpage to help you.

The International Experience Team is here to help you settle in with a carefully planned International Induction and yearlong opportunities for social events and trips. You can download the International Student Guide app on the or for your arrivals booking form, your international induction timetable, and a wealth of other practical information. We look forward to meeting you!
